Thanksgiving Day Dinner Details

The event is held at the Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center on Thanksgiving Day.

Dinner is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Doors open around 10:15 a.m. We serve a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal, including turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin pie and more. We also give away bags of groceries and clothing items.

There are two shifts available: 9:45 a.m. to noon and noon to 2:30 p.m. Volunteers may show up at the beginning of their shift (9:45 a.m. or noon). Positions are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attire is comfortable. You may wear jeans and tennis shoes. Donations may be brought the day of the event. Items of particular need are toys for young kids, travel toiletry items, hats, coats, and gloves.

When arriving at the Civic Center, volunteers may enter through the front doors (facing Main Street) and should use the volunteer doors. Registration is at the volunteer table in the lobby. There is a separate, monitored room to hang your coats. Volunteers may park in the parking garage across from the Civic Center on Market Street.
